The filming of scenes of Pretty Little Liars – Summer School this past year (2023) by Main Lot Productions has been extremely instrumental in moving our restoration efforts forward at unbelievable momentum. We, as a group, want to take a moment to say “THANK YOU!” for all of the work that Main Lot Productions has done or enabled us to do.
The Rossville Cemetery Association’s members are thankful for the professionalism, courtesy, and most of all, their efforts to not only help restore the church, but ensure every one of our concerns was acknowledged and graciously met, or exceeded beyond what we could ever have imagined.
The following are photos of the work done by Main Lot Productions to the interior of the church plus the installation of the carpeting:
Interior Painting
The art department suggested a slightly light color blue for the walls to make the windows “pop”, and all the white trim, around the windows and up to the ceiling was painted, including the choir loft.
Enough paint was left to repaint the foyer once we make appropriate repairs to the walls. There is also touch up paint to do any of the floor as needed.
Plexiglass windows were installed on the choir loft with vinyl decals to give the illusion of stained glass.
Pews
All the pews which were removed were returned and re-installed. The pews were not repainted, only touched up. This will create a “vintage” or antique look.
New Carpeting
They removed the old carpeting and disposed of it, and left us heat for the new carpet installation. The new carpeting has padding as well as bound edges. This was all installed prior to putting the communion railing back in place. They painted the altar and trim before the new carpeting was installed.
Rear Entry Doorsill
The sill for the rear entry door was rebuilt and the original hand carved saddle re-installed and painted.
Exterior
The exterior and front doors were repainted to their condition prior to the start of filming.
Other work done:
Rather than board up the windows with plywood which had openings, clear plexiglass was installed.
They left us all the prop Bibles and hymnals.
Stone wall fences were thoroughly cleaned.
