The weather may have dampened our efforts, but not our spirits, ever so slightly this past Saturday, but amazing results are always accomplished when a team like this comes together! In between raindrops, we tackled clearing years, if not decades of detritus out of the original hedge line and removed other invasive growth.

Last fall, after five years of progressively trimming back the hedges which had grown to over fifteen feet in height, we cut them back to a normal level, planning on completing the job this spring. And we did! We could have postponed due to the weather forecast, and may have gotten wet, but we got the job done! At least we weren’t baked by the sun. But most of all…we had fun!

Over two dozen wheel barrow loads were removed, opening up the base of the hedges to allow them to grow and fill out. With the flower beds coming into their second year, the grounds are beginning to return to their formal glory, reflecting the care and respect our community once placed on this location.
